1999 Fall Sprints - 222 MHZ
Long overdue compiling by VE3AX

Hopefully most of you will have no trouble reading the attachment. First, my
apologies to the group, and especially the participants for being so late
with this. I had originally intended to finish it up by November 1st but
obviously that did not happen. Like always, and more so of late, work and
family take priority.

I also apologize for not being on the air. I managed to get three new
self-supporting towers up this past summer, but did not get antennas
installed. That will come starting in the Spring but probably not in time
for the 222 Mhz Spring Sprint. I will be on for the one in the fall.

There were many more on the air than the logs received (32) show. I noticed
two VE3's in the submitted logs that did not send in their own results,
which is disappointing. I will work on them for the 2000 contests. Note
there are 3 ties - that's why the rank only shows 29.

Congratulations to Steve, N2CEI! Some of the other 222 Mhz "big guns" were
notably absent, or as in Jeff's (K1TEO) case, almost absent. Tom, WA8WZG,
perennial winner extraordinaire, was on the air as indicated by a few logs,
but guess his operating time was limited too.

I certainly hope everyone had fun and thanks to the sponsors for taking the
initiative to get the fall sprints off the ground, again! Let's hope the
activity for next year is even better. See you then!
